Back from “Christmas Vacation”
Another “late Christmas Vacation” come and gone. Thanks to my position at work, I have to take my days off after the holidays. It was a much needed break and I can not say I’m all that happy about coming back. I really wish I could have taken another week or two to really be stress free, but to be honest I am sure I would have driven my wife crazy in that amount of time.
For the first part of our trip we visited with my grandparents (four and a half hour trip), having family and friends come to us made it much more eventful and easy. We gave my grandparents their gifts (lots of pictures of our daughter, on mugs, plates, in frames, etc) which they thoroughly enjoyed. It was pretty cold while we were there, so most of our time was spent inside. We did venture out to the local mall (it is going out of business), while at Waldenbooks (also going out of business) we came across some DnD stuff and bought it up. I also visited the sound shop there in the mall and bought my grandfather a kit for this guitar. It had strings, a tuner and a few other goodies for his new guitar.
Wednesday we left for Starkville, which took us three hours to get there. We stayed with my wife’s parents for the duration, having family and friends come to visit us again. It snowed on us and got devestatingly cold. Now, while the snow did not stick, (*sad*) the lakes and ponds froze over. With my shiney new camera, a kodak, from my wife I went about snapping pictures here and there. The warning for the public was that the ice was *gasp* NOT frozen enough to be on. But, you know me *devilish grin*…. Anyways, I managed to sink many a time over the week and was chased by many cracks on the ice as I made my daring moves on the ice in an attempt to prove them wrong. (They were right, for the most part, however I am a fat guy so in my defense they were wrong.)
We were able to visit a great deal of people. Me and the wife got to hang out a good bit with Justin and Erin. I’m really worried for them, but that is another matter and not for this site. I met with our friend Kat (wife’s best friend) and her boytoy Richard. We managed to get all our friends together and go bowling, I snuck off and convinced the staff at the bowling alley to boost my wife’s score by four strikes (which they happily did). And she ended up being the winner of our second bowl. Though, for the record, I totally told her that I didn’t TELL them to change the score as she wondered. I ASKED NICELY for them to change the scored. *evil grin* So, Nyah nyah! Hehe. Work was pleasant coming back. I have so many great feeds to read, and I can’t wait to delve into more Arrens and Aely works.
I hope everyone out there had a pleasant week.
